Techno-Activism Third Mondays (TA3M) is an informal meetup designed to connect software creators and activists who are interested in censorship, surveillance, and open technology. Currently, TA3M are held in 15 cities throughout the world, with many more launching in the near the future.
This monday evening, we are pleased to welcome Jamie Klinger from Jack Of All Trades, a webapp set up to provide a robust platform of value exchange for the individual while simultaneously promoting community-centered projects through a direct democracy-inspired decision-making model. Through a community-generated complementary currency, JoatU can use the power of a community-supported marketplace as the backing for a values-based currency for which to generate wealth within that very same community. This can later be grown, open-sourced, and forked into a decentralized self-supporting cryptocurrency. Simultaneously, the direct democracy-inspired decision-making model can be used to allow for communities to begin testing the grounds of self-governance.
